![]() But as rage quitting tends to be the culmination of a series of work issues, employers can avoid being left in the lurch by paying attention to the warning signs – before an employee drops the mic on their way out the door. The Covid-19 pandemic has only intensified the stressors that can lead employees to quit on the spot. Yet far from throwing a temper tantrum, 'rage quitting' is a sign of serious flaws in a workplace: from lax health and safety standards to exploitative working conditions and abusive managers. ![]() Many of us have fantasised about leaving a bad job in a similarly dramatic fashion. Over the microphone, so everyone could hear, he berated the club owner for lying about fixing the air conditioning and for the equipment-frying conditions. The heat was also damaging his gear, and he’d had enough. “I literally had ice packs on my neck in order to not pass out,” remembers Alexander, now 35, of the 2016 event. It felt extra sticky and humid because the club was hosting a special event: a Pokemon-themed foam party, where upwards of 400 clubbers were frolicking in suds. Though it was more than 40☌ outside, the club’s air conditioning was broken. It was sweltering inside the nightclub where Alexander was DJing, in the US state of Virginia. I would tell you to be careful because I'm pretty sure I have heard of people who DC often during battles being temporarily suspended from online matchmaking without being told.As we head into 2022, Worklife is running our best, most insightful and most essential stories from 2021. If you regularly DC to save time or whatever then I can't tell you that it's a lie and your actually rage quitting because that wouldn't make any sense. To me, the disconnects due to the usual reasons (like the ones listed above) are signs of poor sportsmanship and don't make anybody look bad but the person doing it. Usually when I see other forms of DC it's on the first turn before anyone has even made a move yet, which to me indicates a likelihood of internet troubles or whatever. Either I call their ally switch, get a crit and knock out something, or something like this and they DC. Ultimately, I can only speak to my experiences with people doing this to me and in basically every circumstance it's a rage quit. It seems about the same amount of time as just waiting for the turn to finish and then forfeiting. I don't usually do this so I can't provide insight, but if you want to keep playing you have to reopen the game, reconnect to the internet, go through the opening stuff of selecting a team and everything, and then queue for a match. I fail to see how I'm saving time by disconnecting unless you are just done playing for the time being. There are tons of examples, in all games really, but in pokemon specifically where tilting things are happening to a player (rock slide flinch, missing/hitting low accuracy moves, etc) but the player "being haxed" is still winning on board or in numbers so they don't quit. I don't know if I have ever seen somebody rage quit who was winning, so your statement about quitting out of emotion regardless of your odds isn't true.
